Highlight:
The Pipe Rack internal transport operation at the refinery was featured all around the world. It has won the ESTA 2013 Prize as the best SPMT job of the year.

ESTA (The European Association of Abnormal Road Transport and Mobile Crane) is the greatest association of the complex cargo handling in the European market which held its annual awards evening.

The main scope for TFB is the heavy transport by means of SPMT's of more than 200 pipe rack modules from manufacturing area up to foundation, including the final installation.

The modules (composed of three groups with different width ranging from 3 to 6 and 9 meters) were long between 25 and 35 meters, weighing between 100 and 800 ton. TFB mobilized 36 axle lines Spmt’s , 4 connecting beams and lattice towers used to support the modules during the transport and useful as well, for the installation activity. Due to the peculiar configuration of the frame, the modules were mainly transported with two rows of axle lines SPMT’s. TFB took care of the engineering aspects and the tailor made configuration in order to perform the delicate transport of the three meters wide module. As a matter of fact, TFB provided the trailers, a base frame on top of which the lattice towers were positioned, a top frame and some transversal and longitudinal beams in order to better stabilize the convoy considering that the center of gravity was relevantly high.
